Transfer News: Liverpool shock move for Barca ace, Man United Otamendi boost, Arsenal exit

Manchester United are set to sell Jonny Evans to Everton for £7million.

The defender has been at Old Trafford his whole career.

But the 27-year-old only made 17 appearances for Louis van Gaal last term.

And United have had a major boost in their bid to bring Nicolas Otamendi to the club.

The Argentina defender missed Valencia's shirt promotion today as he tries to force a move away.

Otamendi is also being monitored by Real Madrid in the event that Sergio Ramos leaves the club.

Ramos is wanted by United but now looks set to stay put having been handed the captain's armband at the Bernabeu.

Liverpool and Tottenham have been handed a boost as they look to land Arda Turan on a short-term loan.

Barcelona's president Josep Maria Bartomeu admits the new signing could leave the club on loan this summer.

The Catalan side are under a transfer embargo and new-boy Turan is not allowed to play until January.

However Bartomeu says he could leave on loan, and the Mirror report that Liverpool and Tottenham are among the options for the Turkey midfielder.

"[Loaning him out] is a possibility," Bartomeu told RAC1, "but the final decision must be made by coach Luis Enrique and it must be a purely technical decision.”

“It must be a team not playing in the Champions League."
